One Bedroom Bungalow - Chalong Bay (Code: A00135)

You enter through the bottom level outdoor deck straight into a large living room. At the rear of the living room is a staircase leading up to the bedroom. Underneath the staircase is a full bar stocked to the hilt. To the rear of the bar is a large bathroom with a 24 foot (7m) high ceiling.
This A-frame house is constructed entirely of Daeng wood, the same wood used in Thai Longtail boats. Daeng is a hardwood similar in strength and structure to teak. It is naturally insect and weather resistant but has been thoroughly treated nevertheless.

Upstairs
The entire house is raised 3.5 feet (1.2m) off the ground by eight reinforced concrete and steel girder platforms, each with a base foundation 6 feet (2m) deep into the sand. The crawl space under the house can be used for extra storage or to house chickens. The ground is entirely beach sand.

At the top of the staircase is the entertainment system, video, CD, DVD, satellite tuner and amplifier. Also storage room for a bicycle or other such items. The upstairs bedroom has a high 14 foot (3.6m) ceiling and two glass doors side by side which lead out to an upper deck.

The upstairs is interesting depending on your tastes. All of the lights are controlled by dimmers inside and out. In total, there are 24 dimmer controlled lights, most being halogen.

Both the upstairs and downstairs have mounted high fidelity speakers and submerged subwoofers used with either the television, DVD movies or with the stereo. No matter where you are in the house, high fidelity quality audio is at your control.

The upstairs roof and all walls are entirely insulated, keeping the air conditioning inside and the humidity outside. If you're not into AC, the house gets a nice steady breeze flowing in from the sea during the day, but nights are mostly still.

Downstairs
The downstairs primary living area is plush and clean with solid views from ever position within the room.

As you walk in the front door, the first thing you will notice is the bar at the back of the room. This is your own private personal bar complete with a microwave, refrigerator and all the utensils and supplies you will need.

Also, a charcoal grill on the front deck can be used for some BBQ action.

While seated at the bar, you will enjoy clear unobstructed views of the bay, depending on how many drink's you've had. Behind the bar is the bathroom.

Lounge on the couch and hit the remote for the projection television to drop down from the ceiling, then watch your favorite movie.
